Green Buffaloes have retained their Zambian Women’s National League title after beating YASA Queens 3-2 on penalties, following a goalless draw in regulation time, in the play-off final decided on Sunday, 28 May.

The Zambia Army-sponsored side will represent the country at the COSAFA region Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

To reach the final, unbeaten Green Buffaloes dominated Zone A, winning 15 games and drawing one for a total of 46 points. While YASA Queens won 11, drew three and lost two to finish atop in Zone B with 36 points.

The epic showdown between both sides to conclude the 2021/2022 league season was played at the Sunset Stadium and streamed live on the FAZ Facebook Page.
